What is leaf mulch?

Shredded partially composted leaves

What does it do?

Suppresses weeds, insulates roots, retains moisture, slowly decomposes enriching the soil with valuable nutrients

How do I use it?

In the summer, spread a thick layer 2-3 inches, between the rows in your vegetable garden to create a clean weed free walking path or use as an alternative to wood mulch in your garden beds for moisture retention, keeps the soil cool preventing roots from overheating

In the fall and winter, it protects plant roots from freezing, prevents soil erosion, beneficial insect hibernation habitats

As it breaks down it releases valuable nutrients to the soil.
